I Choose To Be Happy By Missy Jenkins With William Croyle - Book Review
I Choose To Be Happy is a true story that will break your heart. It is written by a survivor of the high school shooting that took place in West Paducah Kentucky on December 1, 1997. This shooting took the life of three students and injured five. As a result of the shooting she was left paralyzed from the chest down. She could have gave up but she not only overcame but she went on to counsel others who have trials. She even went to visit the boy who shot her. She forgave him.
This highly inspirational story of forgiveness, compassion and love gives the reader a sense of hope for the future. It is a story about how family can support each other during trials and make a real difference.
Missy Jenkins will break your heart while giving you a new outlook on life. She proves that there is still good in this world. She has the ability to make the reader realize that God does exist and he will give us strength to move on after our trials.
I rate this book a 5 star and recommend it to anyone who want hope in a world that is falling short.

Thanks for this post. So much needs to be learned about the tragedy of "school shootings". A place of learning.. The mind-set of those who injure and kill the innocent, thinking that this action will help them is mind boggling.. I will definitely give it a look, and God Bless this brave child. I cannot imagine the pain she has had to deal with, on many levels. A lot of adults would have given up much earlier in the struggle you have let me know she has had to deal with. To forgive? She is a very big person... Ellen B
